DR. SARA MACEDO – FOUNDER
Dr. Macedo is a cross-cultural awareness specialist with extensive expatriate experience. She has enjoyed a diverse professional career, including investment banking, government consultancy and academia. Fluent in English and Spanish and with a working knowledge of French, Sara has lived and worked in eight countries spread over three continents.
After completing her doctoral research on motivation and leadership in the cross-cultural workplace, Sara is now training and coaching executives and teams in cross-cultural awareness and inclusiveness. Her specific focus is on the United Kingdom, Spain and the United Arab Emirates. Whilst much has been made of diversity in the workplace, relatively little attention is paid in the professional world on cross-cultural awareness, or the lack of it, and the impact this can have on individuals, teams and businesses. Her work aims to raise awareness of cross-cultural issues within organisations that are faced with the challenges of the international marketplace – including local and international recruitment, team building, expatriation or repatriation, market entry or development, and negotiation.
Services are typically facilitated through interactive workshops and coaching services for individual executives and teams with a focus on:
- Education on cultural distinctions and opportunities for corporate or personal leverage
- Development of high levels of cultural awareness, self-confidence and mastery
- Promotion of personal discovery and accountability
